Bicester has an old market-town core, but it is now dominated by some of the fastest housing growth in the county: Kingsmere (over 2,000 homes in two phases), Elmsbrook (the eco-town neighbourhood of the NW Bicester development) and Graven Hill (a large self-build estate on a former MoD site). A resin quote here depends heavily on which of those a property sits in.

Bicester, specifically

Named developments, not generic new-build

Kingsmere sits to the southwest of the town centre; Elmsbrook and the wider Northwest Bicester eco-town scheme sit to the northwest and were built with sustainability features like rainwater harvesting designed in; Graven Hill, on former Ministry of Defence land, is a self-build and custom-build estate with more variation between individual plots than a standard estate. Each behaves differently for access and existing groundworks.

The historic centre is a smaller, separate case

Bicester's historic core includes a conservation area and listed buildings, but this should not be assumed to extend to the surrounding estates — heritage constraints here are specific to the old town centre, not the town as a whole.

Services and SuDS on the new estates

On Kingsmere, Elmsbrook and similar large planned developments, underground services and sustainable drainage (SuDS) infrastructure are often close to the frontage. A services scan before excavation is worth doing on these plots specifically, rather than treating it as a formality.

Permeable surfacing and Cherwell's planning rules

Paving over 5m² of front garden with an impermeable surface needs planning permission from Cherwell District Council unless it's permeable or drains to a soakaway. On the newer eco-focused developments like Elmsbrook this often sits alongside the estate's own sustainability standards, which is worth checking before work starts.

What it costs

Prices don't vary by town on this site — every figure is a published UK cost-guide rate, and averaging it down to a local number would just be inventing one. The national cost guide and calculator give you the real range; what's on this page is what's genuinely different about doing the job here.

Getting a resin drive priced in Bicester?

Send us the drive, the surface it's replacing and your postcode, and the enquiry goes to installers covering your area.

Get resin driveway quotes

Tell us the drive and where you are. Your details go to installers who cover your postcode — we publish costs, we do not lay driveways, and nobody gets your number until you send this.

  • We are a cost guide, not an installer — so we have nothing to gain from talking the price up.
  • Your postcode decides who hears about it. No postcode, no route.
  • Three quotes is the standard advice, because the same job varies 20 to 30 per cent between firms.
  • No number is a quote until someone has stood on your drive.

Estimates on this site are arithmetic on published cost-guide rates. They are not quotes, not offers, and not based on seeing your property.
