Didcot is a railway town that has grown fast: an older, compact core sits alongside Ladygrove, an established estate from the 1990s and 2000s, and Great Western Park, a large newer development still expanding on the town's edge. A resin quote here depends heavily on which of those you are in — the driveway situation is genuinely different across the three.

Didcot, specifically

Older core versus planned estates

Streets near the original railway-town centre tend to have narrower, more compact frontages. Ladygrove and Great Western Park were built with off-street parking designed in from the start, which usually means a cleaner base to work from, but also estate-management conditions and shared drives worth checking before quoting.

Great Western Park is still being built out

As a live, expanding development, some phases of Great Western Park have unfinished roads, ongoing utility works and developer landscaping requirements nearby. On a newer plot here, confirm what is actually finished infrastructure versus what is still being laid in by the developer before planning access and material delivery.

Drive size and access

Estate-built driveways on newer Didcot plots are typically a regular rectangle sized for one or two cars, with a dropped kerb already in place. Older streets nearer the centre are more likely to need a new crossover applied for, which is a separate cost and process from the resin work itself.

Permeable surfacing and South Oxfordshire's planning rules

Paving over 5m² of front garden with a non-permeable surface needs planning permission from South Oxfordshire District Council unless the surface itself is permeable or drains to one. Resin bound surfacing meets that test, which is one reason it turns up so often on both older Didcot streets and the new estates.

What it costs

Prices don't vary by town on this site — every figure is a published UK cost-guide rate, and averaging it down to a local number would just be inventing one. The national cost guide and calculator give you the real range; what's on this page is what's genuinely different about doing the job here.

Getting a resin drive priced in Didcot?

Send us the drive, the surface it's replacing and your postcode, and the enquiry goes to installers covering your area.

Get resin driveway quotes

Tell us the drive and where you are. Your details go to installers who cover your postcode — we publish costs, we do not lay driveways, and nobody gets your number until you send this.

  • We are a cost guide, not an installer — so we have nothing to gain from talking the price up.
  • Your postcode decides who hears about it. No postcode, no route.
  • Three quotes is the standard advice, because the same job varies 20 to 30 per cent between firms.
  • No number is a quote until someone has stood on your drive.

Estimates on this site are arithmetic on published cost-guide rates. They are not quotes, not offers, and not based on seeing your property.
