Wantage and Grove sit side by side under the same OX12 postcode district but have grown differently: Wantage is a historic market town with a conservation-sensitive core, while Grove has an older village centre now surrounded by some of the biggest housing growth in the Vale of White Horse, at Crab Hill and Grove Airfield.

Wantage & Grove, specifically

Wantage's market-town core

The historic centre around the Market Place is conservation-sensitive and holds a number of listed buildings, so any visible frontage change there should be checked against the Vale's conservation guidance first. Streets nearer the centre often have little to no private frontage at all.

Crab Hill and Grove Airfield are real, large developments

Crab Hill, on the west side of Wantage, is allocated for around 1,500 new homes and has been building out in phases since 2017. Grove Airfield is a separate major growth site on former airfield land. Properties on either are new-build, with parking laid out to a plan rather than added later — worth confirming exactly what is in the property boundary versus a shared court.

Drive size and access varies by era

Older central streets in both Wantage and Grove tend to have narrow or nonexistent private drives. New-build plots on Crab Hill and Grove Airfield are more likely to come with a defined driveway space and surface-water drainage designed in by the developer, which any resin work needs to tie into correctly.

Permeable surfacing and the Vale's planning rules

Paving over 5m² of front garden with an impermeable surface needs planning permission from the Vale of White Horse unless it's permeable or drains to a soakaway. On the newer Crab Hill and Grove Airfield plots this sits alongside the developer's own SuDS (sustainable drainage) design, so it is worth checking what the original build already accounts for.

What it costs

Prices don't vary by town on this site — every figure is a published UK cost-guide rate, and averaging it down to a local number would just be inventing one. The national cost guide and calculator give you the real range; what's on this page is what's genuinely different about doing the job here.

Getting a resin drive priced in Wantage & Grove?

Send us the drive, the surface it's replacing and your postcode, and the enquiry goes to installers covering your area.

Get resin driveway quotes

Tell us the drive and where you are. Your details go to installers who cover your postcode — we publish costs, we do not lay driveways, and nobody gets your number until you send this.

  • We are a cost guide, not an installer — so we have nothing to gain from talking the price up.
  • Your postcode decides who hears about it. No postcode, no route.
  • Three quotes is the standard advice, because the same job varies 20 to 30 per cent between firms.
  • No number is a quote until someone has stood on your drive.

Estimates on this site are arithmetic on published cost-guide rates. They are not quotes, not offers, and not based on seeing your property.
